NETGEAR®, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTGR), a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking products, is showcasing its latest innovative networking solutions for consumers and small to medium-sized businesses at CeBIT 2007, the world’s largest trade show. NETGEAR will present its family of interoperable networking solutions for the digital home and small office, including advances in multimedia entertainment, Internet telephony, storage and business-class networking. New products on display will include the highly praised Digital Entertainer HD (EVA8000) Internet set-top box for streaming digital multimedia files over home networks to HDTVs, the Dual-Mode DECT Cordless Phone with Skype™ (SPH200D), the Storage Central Turbo (SC101T), Powerline HD Ethernet adapters (HDX101), the RangeMax™ Next Wireless-N product family with draft 802.11n technology, and the entire range of Business Switches, Routers, Firewalls and WLAN solutions. NETGEAR will be exhibiting in Hall 13, Stand C58 of the Hannover Exhibition Hall in Hannover, Germany, through March 21.

“With this year’s CeBIT themes being Multimedia Entertainment, Internet Telephony, WLAN Innovations and Business Use, this is the ideal environment for NETGEAR to demonstrate our latest innovations to our expanding community of international consumer and business customers,” stated Patrick Lo, chairman and chief executive officer of NETGEAR. “We’re proud of our reputation around the world for networking solutions of quality, high-performance, reliability, affordability and stylishness. We’re excited to display our newest devices, which will enable our customers to further enhance their digital experience in the home and office.”

Visitors to NETGEAR’s booth will be able to experience live demonstrations of the latest networking technology, as well as test the devices and obtain expert advice.

Home and Digital Entertainment Networking
In the “Digital Living” showroom within the booth, NETGEAR will demonstrate the acclaimed Digital Entertainer HD (EVA8000) Internet set-top box, which enables consumers to seamlessly stream digital multimedia content over their home networks to their high-definition home entertainment systems. The Digital Entertainer HD supports open standards for streaming digital content from Windows® as well as Mac® and Linux computers, network storage devices, USB media devices such as flash drives and iPods®, and from popular Internet sites including YouTube and Flickr™. The set-top media receiver automatically discovers and organizes media files into a single library, accessible via remote control, without the need for media server software running on the computer. A high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) port displays video resolution up to 1080p on big-screen TVs and optical digital audio output (TOSLINK) transmits full digital surround sound to a digital audio receiver.

NETGEAR is also adding to its popular storage product line with the new Storage Central Turbo, offering versatile, high-performance, affordable networked storage, designed for the sharable data backup and storage needs of consumers and small businesses. It features a Gigabit Ethernet interface that enables users to quickly and easily transfer, share and store music, photos, data files, and videos across the network. The Storage Central Turbo supports two 3.5-inch Serial ATA (SATA) disk drives of any capacity and makes real-time copies of stored data on two separate hard drives to ensure maximum protection against data loss, providing users with the ideal mirrored, centralized storage solution. The Storage Central Turbo is a future-proof storage solution that enables users to expand storage capacity indefinitely by upgrading to larger SATA hard drives or even by adding additional storage devices to the network.

NETGEAR will also demonstrate its high-speed Powerline products for seamless entertainment networking. NETGEAR’s 200 Mbps Powerline HD Ethernet Adapter (HDX101) turns any AC electrical outlet into a home network broadband connection for real-time gaming, high-quality VoIP calls or high-definition video streaming. The Powerline HD Ethernet Adapter enables consumers to seamlessly connect a personal computer, digital video recorder, game console or other Ethernet-ready device to their home network. NETGEAR’s Powerline HD Ethernet Adapter offers built-in Video Quality of Service (VQoS) for consistent performance with encrypted security, at unprecedented data rates, to seamlessly stream high-definition video throughout the entire home without the need to run any cabling between rooms.

Wireless Local Area Networking
NETGEAR’s entire RangeMax Next family of draft 802.11n wireless routers, adapters, and access points will be on display throughout the duration of CeBIT. With its innovative RangeMax Next wireless product family, NETGEAR is the first to offer devices capable of achieving 300 Mbps for wireless networking. According to competitive analysis by VeriTest®, the RangeMax Next family, which includes the RangeMax Next Wireless-N Router Gigabit Edition with 10/100/1000 Switch (WNR854T), as well as a 10/100 Switch router, delivers uplink throughput speeds nearly twice as fast as competitors’ draft 802.11n-compliant routers. RangeMax Next routers achieve the strongest short-, mid- and long-range uplink throughputs while incorporating “Steady Stream” technology to deliver the stable connections required for high-quality media and telephony applications, even in heavy interference or long-range conditions.

Internet Telephony
NETGEAR will also present the Dual-Mode DECT Cordless Phone with Skype (SPH200D), which simultaneously connects to a home network router through Ethernet and a standard telephone wall jack to support both landline and Skype Internet calls without the need to be connected to a computer. It incorporates Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telephony (DECT) technology, which utilizes the 1.9GHz band enabling the cordless phone to avoid interference from WiFi networks to provide longer range and ensure crystal-clear voice quality. The Cordless Phone base station, which supports up to four handsets, saves consumers money and eliminates clutter by enabling users to improve the quality of their traditional telephone service and add the cost-saving benefits of Skype Internet calling by simply replacing their current cordless phones throughout the home.

Business-Class Networking Solutions
New at NETGEAR’s CeBIT booth is the “Digital Office” showroom where visitors can experience Powerline over Ethernet (PoE) solutions, multifunctional print servers and remote access through SSL and VPN. NETGEAR will display its full spectrum of managed, unmanaged and the extremely popular Smart Switches for network installations of every size. NETGEAR recently expanded its industry-leading family of Stackable Smart Switches with the launch of the ProSafe 24- and 48-port Gigabit Stackable Smart Switches (GS724TS and GS748TS), which provide scalability, speed and flexibility, and support advanced networked technologies without the cost or complexity of a fully managed solution.

Additionally, NETGEAR will be showcasing the new ProSafe 24 Port 10/100 Smart Switch with 4 Gigabit Ports and 24 PoE Ports (FS728TP). Filling the gap between unmanaged and fully managed switches, this full 24-port PoE solution is designed for growing businesses desiring control over their network without the cost and complexity of a full Layer 2/Layer 3 management implementation.

With its full array of switches for corporate, branch and remote offices, NETGEAR’s continued dedication to the SMB sector has made it an industry-leading provider of complete, innovative network solutions for small and medium sized companies.
