Comic Relief Goes Mobile with 3

LONDON & NEW YORK - 3, the mobile media company, has teamed up with Comic Relief to make it easy for customers to make a donation. 3 has created a new section on the Planet 3 portal dedicated to Comic Relief. This means customers of 3 can donate money to Comic Relief on the Red Nose Day page on their mobiles, making it the quickest and most efficient way to donate money.

By visiting the Red Nose Day mobile site on Planet 3 customers can choose to donate money with the press of a button. For the first time through the mobile internet, 3 is providing its customers with the means to make instant donations. To make a donation customers click through to a link from the Planet 3 portal, they’re asked to confirm their donation before it is deducted from their account. The full amount will go to Comic relief.

Working in partnership, MX Telecom and 3 have made the donation process simple and effective, delivering the entire donation amount to Comic Relief for free. The donations will be taken out of available credit for prepay customers or added to their bill for contract customers. This is the first time a mobile network has donated the full amount received to Comic Relief.

In addition, the MX Telecom donation system allows Comic Relief to claim Gift Aid on donations, thereby adding an extra 28% of the donated amount to the total received by Comic Relief.
