The Wedding Ring Shop Building New, More Elegant Home

WEBWIRE

(Honolulu, HI — June 9, 2005) — The Wedding Ring Shop, Hawai‘i’s foremost purveyor of engagement and wedding rings, has outgrown its home of 18 years and is moving to new, much larger and more elegant quarters on the Kapi‘olani corridor.

“Our unique retail culture has evolved into a true ‘destination’ store,” Michael Han, president and founder, explained. “People buying treasures want the shopping experience to be a gracious, pleasant part of the memory — our new location responds to those desires.”

Han plans to double his staff at the new store, which will be five times the size of the current location at Ala Moana Shopping Center. Booming business and growing consumer demand for high-quality shopping experiences led Han to this expansion.

Shoppers look forward to ample parking and an increased emphasis on customer comfort at the new building on 1181 Kapi‘olani Boulevard (at the corner of Pensacola). The 7,200 square-foot, three-story building was designed by award-winning architect Peter Vincent.

The new store’s “gem-like” design features a two-story glass-walled entry lobby where customers will be greeted. “The exterior design mimics the diamonds housed within,” Vincent said.

A retail showroom and jewelry manufacturing station on the second level offers private consultation areas and a beverage bar.

The Wedding Ring Shop will join luxury condos, medical complexes and recreational operations in the emerging live-work-play area that Hawai‘i Community Development Authority Chair James Kometani calls “the vibrant centerpiece for Honolulu’s urban community.”

In August The Wedding Ring Shop will move to an interim location on the fourth floor of 1221 Kapi‘olani Boulevard. Formerly known as the Blackfield building, it is also home to The Pancake House and Princess Brides. The Wedding Ring Shop will operate at the location until the grand opening of its Kapi‘olani store in March 2006.

The relocation will be celebrated with a “Departure Sale” from June 13 through July 28. The sale features exceptional prices on precious stones and fine jewelry designs from around the world as The Wedding Ring Shop “clears the vault” in preparation of its transition.
