Alcoa Receives Large Business of the Year Award

FULLERTON, Calif. - Alcoa Fastening Systems’Fullerton Aerospace Operations has been recognized as the Large Business of the Year by the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce. U.S. Congressman Ed Royce presented the award to Craig Brown, Director of Operations, of the facility. “We are extremely pleased that the city recognizes our commitment and contributions to the business community in Fullerton,” Brown commented. “We have been an active member of the community for over 40 years and we will continue to support it.”

Awards are presented annually, and are the highest recognition for demonstrating the spirit of entrepreneurship, active business leadership, trusted volunteer, contributor, neighbor, and friend of the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce and the Fullerton Community. The Fullerton-based AFS facility won the same award in 1989, and it is the first business to win this award a second time. AFS Fullerton has been involved in many charities including Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, the Bolsa Chica Wetland restoration, and Operation Gratitude. It also recently donated $90,000 for the “Alcoa Foundation Environmental Laboratory”, which will be part of California State University at Fullerton’s Engineering School.
