SITRONICS TS to Deliver NGN Network for Russia’s Largest Municipal Operator

TENNET platform will enable Moscow operator MGTS to offer a wide range of new services

Prague, 14th March 2007 – SITRONICS Telecom Solutions, has won an important contract for the delivery of a next generation network (NGN) solution to the largest municipal fixed-line operator in Russia. SITRONICS TS will deploy its TENNET NGN platform in the network of MGTS (Moscow Municipal Telephone Network), establishing a new high capacity IP-based network. At the same time, legacy infrastructure will be integrated into the new solution during the transformation stage in order to harness previous investments and minimise costs. The new project follows extensive testing of the TENNET in a pilot project in the MGTS network which was launched in Q2 2006.

The migration of the MGTS network towards a next generation network is one of the largest projects of its kind. The solution to be deployed will enable more than 70,000 transit ports to be integrated with high-capacity TGX 6800 transit gateways controlled by the MGC softswitch based on the AdvancedTCA architecture. The TENNET platform will enable MGTS to broaden its services portfolio with triple-play based services and at the same time will while provide full interconnection with the networks of other telecommunication operators with industry standard interfaces. Thanks to the solution’s centralised network management architecture, the TENNET solution is far more economical to operate than traditional networks. The TENNET solution is fully compatible with the new IMS/TISPAN norms.
