125 Home Depot Volunteers Paint and Plant in Roseland, Ill.; NHS of Chicago and Neighborhood Residents Host NeighborWorks Project

WHO: Employee volunteers from national NeighborWorks(r) Week sponsor Home Depot will join Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago and neighborhood residents for a day of neighborhood revitalization in Roseland. USG and Chamberlain Group, Home Depot suppliers, will also participate.

WHAT: Volunteers will landscape and paint more than 25 homes on the 105th to 107th blocks of South Edbrooke.

This is the future site of New Homes for Roseland Phase II, consisting of 58 units (16 single-family homes and 21 brick two-flats) of affordable housing under the City’s New Homes for Chicago program. These homes will be built in partnership with the NHS Redevelopment Corporation, the real estate development arm of NHS.

WHY: Organized by Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago, Inc. (NHS), Neighborworks Day projects promote healthy neighborhoods and provide long-term impact. In the seventeen years since NHS of Chicago’s first Neighborworks Day, volunteers have made more than $5 million in improvements in Chicago neighborhoods.

Chicago is one of 235 cities and communities around the country that are taking part in NeighborWorks(r) Week, the largest volunteer community-revitalization event of its kind.
