Is Your Home Safe? Nationally Syndicated "Rachael Ray" Show May Have The Answer

IRVINE, Calif. - SmartLabs, Inc. the world’s leading provider of home automation products and parent company to Smarthome, says three of its home security solutions will be featured in an upcoming “Rachael Ray” segment titled “How Safe Is Your Home?” The program, which airs on Friday, March 9, features security expert Al Corbi who will provide insight into the mind of a burglar and will offer viewers expert secrets and affordable solutions for protecting their families.

Producers at “Rachael Ray” worked with security expert Corbi of S.A.F.E. Environments in preparing the segment. Corbi believes that people are complacent about home security because of a number of common myths, including the ideas that home is a safe refuge, that burglar alarms will provide protection, and that the police will intervene should the need arise. Corbi argues that most homes, even in gated communities, provide little deterrence or protection against intruders. A burglary is recorded every 12 seconds. By the time a burglar alarm is triggered, the criminal is most likely already inside, and by the time the police respond, whatever is going to happen has likely already happened. For this reason, a more proactive approach to home security is required.

“How Safe Is Your Home?” will feature three Burbank, Calif., homes with three different security solutions installed by Smarthome national training manager Steve Lee. Many people assume security systems are expensive, but, says Corbi, “security solutions like those demonstrated by Smarthome are affordable for everyone.”

“Any of the systems featured in the show can be installed in an afternoon,” says Lee. “Smarthome has technical support available, as well as installation guides and a very informative website, Smarthome.com, that can help consumers find the security solutions they are looking for.”
