AtlasCT Launches Award-winning Relive! Social Photo Sharing And Mapping Application
AtlasCT, a developer and provider of worldwide mapping solutions both for the Internet and mobile marketplace, is announcing the commercial availability of reLive! for mobile operators, web portals and social networks.
ReLive! is a social photo sharing and mapping application which enables users to take photos with their mobile phones and then easily tag the photos to their precise location on a map. Users can also add notes, creating a travelogue map which tracks their journey. ReLive! enables users to “relive” their trip through an easy-to-access web interface, and to invite friends and family members to experience their journey with them.

At the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, AtlasCT won the “Social Networking Application” category for Europe in the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge, for the reLive! social photo sharing and mapping application, which was selected from among more than 340 total submissions. Following great interest for reLive! at 3GSM, AtlasCT is making the application commercially available to mobile operators, web portals and social networks.
AtlasCT is a pioneer in the development of map-based web and mobile applications, and as such, partners with leading web portals and mobile handset manufacturers and mobile operators.
The technological advantages that AtlasCT brings to the market are the company’s ability to support both mobile and web clients through the same platform, and its streaming vector solution, which greatly reduces transmitted map tiles and bandwidth consumption. The company’s advanced streaming vector transmission technology enables reducing transmission times by 90% versus traditional raster (JPEG) transmission. By decreasing map loading times, it improves the users’ experience and reduces the cost of Internet use for the user and the mobile operator.
Through a partnership with Nokia and NAVTEQ, AtlasCT is preinstalled on all Nokia Series 60 smartphones, enabling users to search for local businesses anywhere in the world, and view the results on a map in real-time from the ABmaps portal (http://www.abmaps.com) by AtlasCT. Then, with the push of a button, the user can call one of the businesses, save the information in contacts, or send the map as an MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) to a friend. Mobile map-based search provides revenue opportunities for mobile operators and yellow pages providers for service, bandwidth and airtime. This partnership is powering mobile map-based search for leading international mobile yellow pages providers including Fonecta in Finland, DasOertliche and Suchen in Germany, PagineGialle in Italy, De Telefoongids in the Netherlands, PaginasAmarillas in Spain, Eniro in Sweden, and Yell.com in the United Kingdom.
AtlasCT expects to announce several new partnerships with leading handset manufacturers and web service providers in the coming months.
