Roche Names Warwick S. Bedwell Global Head - Business Development, Pharma Partnering

Roche recently announced the appointment of Warwick S. Bedwell as vice president and global head, Business Development - Pharma Partnering, a part of the Roche pharmaceuticals business devoted to building a world-class network of alliances with emerging biotech companies. Based in Nutley, New Jersey, Bedwell will report to Peter Hug, global head, Roche Pharma Partnering and be responsible for leading Global Business Development, which identifies and assesses partnership opportunities with external companies.
“I am delighted that Warwick has joined our Pharma Partnering senior management team,” said Hug. “His breadth of experience combined with his strategic insight about the dynamics of the industry, particularly in Asia, will be important as we broaden our relationships with potential new partners and strengthen our network of more than 80 partners worldwide.”

Since June 2003, Bedwell had been Roche General Manager for the Philippines. Prior to that, he held several a variety of senior sales and marketing positions across the primary care and specialty care portfolios in Australia. Before joining Roche in 1998, Bedwell held positions of increasing responsibility at Schering-Plough in Australia and Asia and other healthcare related companies in Australia.

Since 2006, Bedwell has been a member of the Board of European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines and the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of The Philippines. He is also a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia and the Australian College of Pharmacy Practice.

Bedwell received a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from the University of Sydney, Australia, and a Masters in Business Administration and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia. Registered in Australia as a pharmacist, Bedwell is married and has two children.
