Universal Electronics Develops Control Solutions For New VIZIO Line of High Definition Televisions

CYPRESS, CA — February 21, 2007 – Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI) (NASDAQ: UEIC) announced that VIZIO, Inc. has selected UEI to supply universal remote control solutions for its newest line of MAXIMVS large format plasma televisions, scheduled to be released in 2007.

This announcement comes on the heels of a successful year-long relationship between UEI and VIZIO, wherein UEI has been a supplier of remote control devices for VIZIO’s 2006 range of plasma and LCD HDTV solutions.

A Sleek Design Combined With World-Class Control Technology

UEI will continue to provide VIZIO with innovative control solutions for the newest line of plasma and LCD HDTV’s due out in early 2007. These new remotes will be equipped with UEI’s unparalleled device code database for universal compatibility, as well as unique patented technologies including enhanced features such as a direct set, one-touch macro and innovative backlighting technology. UEI’s highly experienced design team worked closely with VIZIO to develop a stylish and functional design to control the new 60 inch line of VIZIO HDTV plasma televisions.

The new UEI remotes will be available in the spring of 2007 and are scheduled to be phased in with the new MAXIMVS lineup of VIZIO Plasma HDTV televisions beginning with the VM60PHDTV.
