M-series to Form IP/MPLS Backbone Supporting High-Quality Voice over IP and Multiplay Services throughout Mexico

SUNNYVALE, Calif., February 26, 2007-Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that Mexican national telecommunications carrier Maxcom has upgraded its IP/MPLS backbone network with Juniper Networks M-series to better support its carrier-grade Voice over IP (VoIP) service and other new multiplay service offerings. Maxcom had previously deployed Juniper Networks E-series at the network edge as the first phase of an upgrade to enable the introduction of IPTV and other advanced multiplay services, and is now upgrading its core with the M-series to ensure consistent quality, reliability and performance throughout the IP network.

“By upgrading our core network with the M-series, we are able to better ensure our quality of service levels and more effectively meet our service level agreements today and well into the future,” said Ricardo Arevalo, chief operating officer and chief technology officer of Maxcom. “Now that we have deployed Juniper Networks routers at both the core and edge of our IP network, the superior reliability and performance is enabling us to expand our VoIP, secured managed services and now multiplay solutions while maximizing the customer experience.”

Juniper Networks M-series uniquely combines best-in-class IP/MPLS capabilities with unmatched reliability and performance. The M-series allows providers to consolidate multiple networks onto a single IP/MPLS infrastructure, while enabling the generation of new revenue with leading-edge services such as VoIP. Using the highly scalable, secure, and reliable JUNOS software, the M-series enable providers to maximize revenue opportunities and minimize operational and capital costs.

“Maxcom had originally deployed Juniper Networks E-series to enable the delivery of IPTV and Multiplay services at the network edge, and we are very pleased to see they are now also upgrading the core with our M-series,” said Tim Lambie, vice president, Americas International, Juniper Networks. “With Juniper deployed throughout their IP network, Maxcom is able to introduce a range of flexible multiplay services with the performance and reliability to exceed customer expectations and provide a quality experience for all subscribers.”
