Major Contract Win from Uzbekistan’s Coscom for Prepaid Loyalty Leader, Business Logic Systems


Coscom is first operator to address loyalty in the country

London / Barcelona, 12 February 2007 - Leading provider of prepaid loyalty technologies to mobile operators, Business Logic Systems, (Hall 1 Stand F63), has been awarded a major contract by Uzbekistan mobile operator, Coscom, for the delivery and implementation of its InTeleStage™ Loyalty Suite. This follows an extensive competitive tender with six other leading industry players. The system is expected to go live by the end of March.

Coscom will be employing the InTeleStage Loyalty Suite to address several requirements. Currently, the operator’s customer lifecycle is extremely short - less than three months on average – due to economic factors in the marketplace. One of the major aims using InTeleStage, therefore, is to prolong user lifetime, thus earning greater revenue from the customer and increasing Customer Lifetime Value.

But such a goal cannot be achieved without meeting the requirement of the operator’s marketing professionals to have segmentation and profile data, enabling them to deliver a targeted marketing approach to loyalty for their subscribers. This is where Coscom will employ the database analysis capabilities that Business Logic Systems is able to provide with InTeleStage.

Coscom have initially opted for an entry-level configuration of InTeleStage Loyalty Suite capable of handling 100,000 prepaid users in active loyalty campaigns. The scalability of the product, however, meets the mid-term aim of the operator to be able to deliver loyalty campaigns to more than 600,000 subscribers by the end of 2007.

Deputy General Director of Coscom, Ruslan Filitov, said, “Uzbekistan is a country where subscriber ARPU is very low as a result of low GDP per capita. In addition, pan-CIS operators have expanded their reach from more mature markets, where penetration rates exceed 70%, and the resulting longstanding price wars have resulted in extremely low prices. We had a major challenge facing us due to the short lifecycle of users on our network, not churn in the traditional sense but a factor of the market conditions.

“The evaluation process showed that of all the sophisticated solutions we looked at the Business Logic Systems InTeleStage Loyalty Suite met every requirement we had and more, so we are delighted to have such a total loyalty solution soon to be operational on our network.”
