Travelling from Manchester Airport
Manchester on airport parking
Manchester Airport is changing the way passengers are picked up from its three terminals.
Passengers will notice the difference when they arrive at Manchester airport to park this winter. The airport authority have taken steps to improve the traffic flow at the airport. The first step taken was in November 2006 at Terminal 1. With no-waiting regulations around Terminal 1 for passenger pick-up.
These measures have dramatically reduced the number of drivers circling the arrivals area while they wait for flight arrivals. This also has implications for the environment with this simple traffic calming strategy - Manchester Airport reckon to be saving a considerable amount of unnecessary CO2 emissions.
Airport users have no need to worry about the changes - A team of customer service staff will be on-hand to assist drivers and signage around Manchester airport has been updated.
The Airport has now introduced the scheme to T3. The ground floor of the short stay car park at Terminal 3 has been altered - creating a new passenger lobby area, a private hire collection point and additional disabled bays. Dividing bollards in the car park have been removed making it easier to find vacant parking spaces. Parking charges for the short stay car parks for stays of less than 30 minutes will be reduced by more than 20%.
These actions serve a dual purpose in that they help to keep the airport more secure and ensure that the Manchester airport user experience is smooth running and stress free. A new no waiting system will be implemented at Terminal 2 later in 2007.
Holiday Extras, the market leaders for UK airport hotels and parking, offer low prices for the long stay multi-storey car parks at Manchester airport.
Each Manchester Airport terminal has its own multi-storey car park. When you park at the multi-story relevant to your check in terminal there is no need for a transfer. A covered walkway links the multi- storey car park to the terminal.
