Siemens Acquires Bridges Electric

Raleigh, N.C., Jan 26, 2007 - Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution, Inc. (SPT&D) announces that it has acquired Bridges Electric, Inc. of Heber Springs, Arkansas.

The acquisition of Bridges Electric allows Siemens to expand its market with the addition of Bridges’ disconnect switch business in the North American market.

Bridges Electric, Inc. has been serving the power transmission and distribution community with reliable solutions for its overhead distribution systems since 1962. The company was founded by Ronald P. Bridges and under his leadership the company grew to be an innovator in the disconnect switch business. The Company designs and produces a variety of air break switches including three phase gang operated air break switches manual and motorized, station class single phase hookstick disconnects, distribution class single phase hookstick disconnects, and regulator as well as OCR by-pass switches.
