Actor Bobby Cannavale Hosts Celebratory Party for New York Filmmaker Phil Van at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival

Actor/Singer Tyler Hilton Performs Selections From Upcoming New Release

ATLANTA, Jan. 25, 2007 – Delta Air Lines toasted the winner of its national short film competition, “Delta’s Fly-In Movies,” at a celebratory party hosted by actor Bobby Cannavale Wednesday night at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival with entertainment provided by actor/singer Tyler Hilton who performed selections from his upcoming release. New York filmmaker Phil Van was awarded top prize for his film “High Maintenance,” which is airing on Delta’s state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system on transcontinental flights through Jan. 31.

Delta, the Official Airline of the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, partnered with Gen Art – one of the leading arts and entertainment organizations dedicated to showcasing the best emerging talent in film, fashion, visual arts and music – to host the contest, which offered filmmakers a unique opportunity to showcase their short films both on and on Delta flights, and to win cash, travel and a trip to the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, all courtesy of Delta.

“High Maintenance” is a film about a woman’s dissatisfaction with her husband, but she comes to find that she can upgrade. The film was chosen from five final films through audience balloting, both online and on Delta flights that took place between Dec. 1, 2006 and Jan. 12, 2007.

“The concept of showing independent short films on an airline is an unprecedented concept and I’m truly grateful to Delta for this opportunity,” said Van, filmmaker for the winning entry. Van received a $10,000 cash award, a pair of round-trip tickets valid for any international Delta flight and was flown to the 2007 Sundance Film Festival with a guest to attend last night’s celebratory party, where his film was shown.

The four other final films included: Dustin Lynn’s “Tranquil Music,” Troy Morgan’s “Dragon,” Lisa M. Perry’s “The Test,” and Jon Knautz’s “Still Life.”

Throughout the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, Delta has hosted the Delta Sky Lodge, showcasing exclusive premiere parties and events. The Lodge has also featured the WireImage Portrait Studio, where filmmakers, casts and industry executives have had their official Festival portraits taken. Visitors to the Delta Sky Lodge have enjoyed two sets of comfy, all-leather Delta airline seats, including international BusinessElite® seats and domestic First Class seats, showcasing Delta’s state-of-the-art digital entertainment system with movies, TV, music and video games. Delta Sky Lodge guests have also tasted new selections from Delta’s signature cocktail program – “Cocktails By Rande Gerber for Delta” – scheduled to debut on Delta flights and in its U.S. Crown Room Clubs® and BusinessElite lounges this spring.

“Delta has been honored to recognize new filmmaking talent and celebrate independent films as a returning sponsor of the Sundance Film Festival,“ said Joanne Smith, Delta’s vice president of Marketing. ”Delta’s ‘Fly-In Movies’ contest has provided a unique platform to support rising filmmakers and to leverage our Sundance sponsorship. Additionally, the Delta Sky Lodge has provided us with an ideal opportunity to host high profile Festival events and to showcase key elements of the Delta brand, including our all-leather airline seats and state-of-the art in-flight entertainment system.”
