Country Jam 2005 will host live entertainment featuring NOMAD (North of Mason Dixon), Stonee Ridge and Traditional Country. An array of competitive events for attendees have been planned including a Country Kids Contest, raffles, door prizes and more.

“This year is a little different,” says June Kelley, owner of Kelley’s Acres. “We’ve opened the cook-off event to the community instead of just the local restaurants. We have some terrific home chefs in our own backyard and we wanted to give them a chance to showcase their best dish. Plus, we wanted to add a little more excitement by extending the competitive nature of the event. We’ve given everyone a chance to get involved whether they are cooking, showcasing their car or participating in the daily activities.”

The event will be commemorated in the Country Jam Cookbook slated for release in September 2005. The book will contain recipes from cook-off participants, photos, vendor listings, and other fun surprises. “Country Jam was created in the spirit of my grandparents and it just seems fitting to honor their memory and the people that have supported us with this unique compilation that has long lasting value to us and the community,” says Nakia Kelley, Co-owner of Kelley’s Acres.

The deadline to register for the Country Jam Cook-Off is July 11, 2005. Only 25 people per category will be chosen. The registration fee is $20.00 and $5.00 for children 12 and under. Advance registration for the auto show is $7.00 and $10.00 at the door. For more information or to register, visit www.kelleysacres.com or call (724) 323.5694.
