Jan 23, 2007, St. Louis, MO- If you’ve ever been to the doctor, you know exactly what kind of hassle it can be filling out what seems to be an endless number of forms asking for volumes of information ranging from previous illnesses, surgeries, and medications to allergies and family medical histories. It’s a lot of information for any one person to remember, and the older you get and more procedures you undergo, the more likely you are to forget something. How many times have you left your doctor’s office and immediately remembered something you were supposed to ask him, just as you are driving out of the parking lot?

Dr. Ingrid Taylor, founder of Allies in Healthcare, is striving to provide a solution to problems like these. She has created a Healthcare Planner which will help patients get organized and get more out of each visit to the doctor’s office.

The planner is divided into sections that included places to keep information like allergies, immunizations, medications, family history, surgical history, and lifestyle history. There is a calendar to record all appointments and it lists questions that everyone should ask themselves before they go into an appointment, and ask their doctor while they are there. It also leaves space for the patient to write down questions he or she may have for their doctor, but would normally forget if they didn’t have them on paper. The planner also has space to list emergency contact information, lab and x-ray tests ordered, and healthcare provider’s information.

The planner will be available on the Allies in Healthcare website at www.AlliesinHealth.com. The website also has tons of other useful links that can lead you to information regarding prescriptions, a list of area doctors and their contact information, upcoming events, and more.
