FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — 1/10/2007 — Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTXS), the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, today announced that the Citrix Access Gateway™ has been positioned in the leaders quadrant by Gartner, Inc. in the “Magic Quadrant for SSL VPN, North America, 3Q06” (1) report.

“Our driving passion at Citrix is to make it easy for companies to deliver any application to any user with the fastest performance, best security and lowest overall cost. The Citrix Access Gateway product line plays a crucial role in this by making secure application access easy and ubiquitous, regardless of where users are located,” said Wes Wasson, vice president, worldwide marketing for Citrix. “We are honored to be positioned by Gartner in the Leaders Quadrant in the rapidly growing SSL VPN market and look forward to growing our leadership in 2007 by continuing to change the game in a positive way for customers.”

With the growing amount of remote and mobile workers, SSL VPNs are a growing necessity for organizations of all sizes. Gartner states that revenue in the SSL VPN market grew 20 percent through mid-2006 compared with 2005. The research firm further predicts that by 2008, SSL VPNs will be the primary remote-access method for more than two-thirds of business teleworking employees, more than three-quarters of contractors and more than 90 percent of casual employee access.(2)

Gartner evaluated SSL VPN companies that meet the market definition and description and fit the following criteria to be evaluated in this report:

* Gartner analysts have a generally favorable opinion about the company’s ability to compete in the market and Gartner clients generate inquiries about the company.
* The vendor causes clients to change or delay their procurement plans for competing products and is regarded as a serious threat by competitors.
* The company regularly appears on shortlists for final selection and demonstrates competitive presences and sales to Gartner analysts.
* Gartner analysts consider that aspects of the company’s product execution and vision are important enough to merit inclusion.

Citrix Access Gateway is a line of universal SSL VPN appliances that provide a secure single point-of-access to all applications and protocols, including multimedia and voice-over-IP (VoIP). The Access Gateway product line has all of the advantages of IPSec and SSL VPNs, without their costly and cumbersome implementation and management. Unlike traditional SSL VPN products, Access Gateway includes Citrix® SmartAccess technology that gives administrators fine grained control over what actions users can take with the applications they access—such as view, edit, save or print—based on who they are, where they are located, and what kind of device they are using.
