Delta SkyMiles Members Have More Flexibility with Combinable Awards and Other New Features

Members may now mix and match Coach, First Class, SkySaver and SkyChoice Awards

ATLANTA, Jan. 3, 2007 – Looking to redeem miles for travel as part of your New Year’s resolution? Delta’s global SkyMiles® members now have greater flexibility and more options when booking Award Travel with the ability to combine Coach, First Class/BusinessElite®, SkySaver and SkyChoice travel into one Award Ticket and save thousands of miles in the process.

As an example, a member who travels from Atlanta to London in a SkyChoice BusinessElite seat and returns from London to Atlanta in a SkySaver Coach seat may now redeem 150,000 miles versus the previously-required 250,000 miles for the same itinerary. Or, a member can fly from New York to Los Angeles in a SkySaver First Class seat and return in a SkySaver Coach seat for 35,000 miles, which previously would have required 45,000 miles.

“Combinable Awards are a result of our investment in and commitment to new customer-focused technology,” said Jeff Robertson, managing director of the SkyMiles program. “They are one of the many new SkyMiles features that will help members worldwide fully enjoy the many benefits of the program and make their travel experience – from booking to boarding – as smooth as possible.”

SkyMiles members may now shop for Award Travel and hold Award reservations on delta.com to anywhere Delta-operated flights go, regardless of origin city. Members also will be able to make an Award Ticket reservation for all countries supported by delta.com.

Later this year, customers can enjoy the following upcoming SkyMiles features:

* An online calendar of availability at delta.com that allows members to shop for Award seats
* Delta Messenger upgrades notification, a tool that will automatically contact Medallion members when their complimentary upgrade has cleared. Or, if a Medallion member is still awaiting an upgrade to clear, Delta will automatically add the member to the airport standby list upon check-in

Additionally, the program recently implemented technology to automatically request an upgrade for Medallion members – Delta’s most frequent flyers – when they make an eligible reservation at delta.com, with Delta reservations, or with a travel agent.

Delta led the airline industry by redeeming 3.3 million Award Tickets in 2005 and more than 9 million Award Tickets over the last three years.

The award-winning Delta SkyMiles program offers members multiple mileage-earning opportunities when flying Delta, Delta Shuttle®, the Delta Connection® carriers, Delta AirElite® and other SkyTeam® airlines. Additional mileage-building opportunities are offered through more than 100 partners such as the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card from American Express, SkyMilesShopping.com, participating hotels, car rental companies, telecommunication services, restaurants, retailers and more. Now in its 25th year, the SkyMiles program received a “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the 2006 Freddie Awards in recognition of its many contributions to the airline loyalty industry, and it was named “Best Frequent Flyer Program” for 2006 by Business Traveler magazine.
