BEA ranked first in market share in Australia, China, Singapore and Thailand, and ranked top three for most other countries in 2005, according to analyst firm IDC (See report titled “Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) Application Server and Integration Server Platform Market Analysis and Forecast 2005-2010”).
According to IDC, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) has risen to the forefront as a rallying point for deployment software and can become a greater driving force as traction and extension into the enterprise gains momentum.

In a recent IDC SOA survey conducted in Asia Pacific (excluding Japan) covering over 600 companies in eight major countries and regions including include Australia, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Mainland China, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand (See report titled “IDC AP SOA Study: Understanding the Buying Behavior and Adoption Trends in Asia/Pacific, 2006”), five per cent of the companies surveyed are currently deploying SOA, while 43 percent are considering deploying SOA in one to two years.
