Kid’s Book by Sean Hannity Correspondent is No Bull

“Freddie the Free-Range Chicken” (Kids Ahead, December 2006, ISBN 0976726955) by Sean Hannity show regular contributor Jill Vitale is a warm, loving story about a boy, a talking chicken…and a bull named after Sean Hannity?

“Yes, it’s true,” says Vitale, also known as “Flirty Flipper” to fans of the Sean Hannity radio show. “After all, bulls are usually the bosses of the barnyard.” But Vitale’s book, published this month by Kids Ahead, is about a lot more than playfully caricaturing the noted talk-show host. “Freddie the Free-Range Chicken” is the story of Jack, a young boy who lived on a farm with parents who loved him, but were always too busy with chores to play. That gave Jack plenty of opportunities for mischief...until Fredricka the Chicken introduced him to Sean the bull and the farm animals’ magical world of fun and endless imagination. But can Jack and his new animal friends save “Freddie” from becoming the next-door neighbor’s Sunday feast?

This beautifully illustrated book, with its uplifting message about love and perseverance, is one kids will turn to again and again. “I had a lot of fun teasing Sean and the other show regulars in the book,” Jill Vitale notes, “but the real point is that we’re a little on-air family…and family counts. That’s the message I want to impart to my own kids, and to kids everywhere.”
