EMC Avamar® Named as One of The Top-Five Storage Developments of The Year by eWeek Labs

Hopkinton, Mass.-Tuesday, December 19, 2006, EMC Corporation, the world leader in information management and storage, today announced that eWeek Labs – the technology testing arm of eWeek magazine – has chosen EMC Avamar® data de-duplication software as one of the top-five storage developments for the year. Recently acquired by EMC, Avamar Technologies advances EMC’s core strengths in information protection and recovery management, which dramatically enhances the way customers protect their data and accelerates the widespread move from tape to disk-based recovery solutions.
