EDS Recognized as a Remote Infrastructure Management Market Leader in Independent Research Firm Report

19 Dec 2006 - PLANO, Texas – EDS today announced it has been recognized for its excellence in the remote infrastructure management segment by Forrester Research in a recent independent report. The Forrester Wave™: European Remote Infrastructure Management, Q4 2006, evaluated EDS’ expertise in managing servers and mainframes that remain in data centers for the firm’s European clients.

Forrester is a leading independent technology research company that focuses on technology’s impact on business. The firm’s latest report evaluated EDS’ current offering and strategy for Remote Infrastructure Management for European companies against 24 criteria, grouped into three high-level areas: Current Offering, Strategy and Market Presence. EDS was selected as a “Leader” based on its proven success in each of these areas, and for earning the highest score in the Current Offering area. Forrester also recognized EDS as the only vendor to achieve a 5.0 (the highest mark available) across eight of the criteria.

Forrester cited EDS as “one of the most experienced players in the infrastructure management market,” stating that the global technology services company “unsurprisingly appears as a leading vendor for the remote infrastructure management segment.” For the European market, EDS was noted as having achieved “sustained presence in the remote infrastructure management (RIM) space (that) has allowed it to develop solid geographical coverage and technical capabilities.” In addition, EDS was recognized as a leader in “managing disaster recovery centers for its clients,” which Forrester considers a supplementary service to Remote Infrastructure Management.
