Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association Local 11 Announces Support For United Airlines Aircraft Mechanics
Support of $10,000.00 per month for United Airlines mechanics actively engaged in the strike. And challenge other unions and locals to do likewise.
In response to today’s judicial ruling regarding the termination of United Airlines Pension plan, AMFA Local 11 based in Dallas Texas, will have a special meeting on May 18, 2005.
At this meeting a vote will be taken on a motion that in the event of a strike on United Airlines by the AMFA represented aircraft mechanics, AMFA Local 11 will contribute $10,000.00 monthly to a strike assistance fund. This fund will be regulated by AMFA Local 11 to provide assistance as necessary to those members actively involved in the strike action.
Furthermore, AMFA Local 11 emphatically recommends that the National Office for AMFA endorse our motion in support of United Airlines mechanics actively engaged in the strike and that all other airline union organizations take similar positions.
