* Chemical intermediates for pharmaceuticals production
* Second award in a row

BASF recently received the “Partnership Award” honoring excellent cooperation from its customer Janssen Pharmaceutica. Last year already, the pharmaceuticals producer headquartered in Geel/Belgium had granted “Official Partner” status to BASF. Altogether Janssen recognized the performance of eight out of 35 measured suppliers, who measured up to very strict evaluation criteria. The so-called “Total Performance Rating” focuses mainly on the factors of quality, logistics, environmental compatibility, costs and reliability on the part of the supplier. Janssen does not continue to do business with suppliers unless they achieve excellent scores in all categories. BASF is supplying Janssen with various chemical intermediates for the production of several pharmaceutical products.

A subsidiary of the U.S.-based Johnson & Johnson Group, Janssen Pharmaceutica, with a workforce of more than 4,700 employees, serves as a center for integrated research and development, production and general services. In Geel, Belgium, Janssen produces all the active ingredients for 65 percent of world wide chemical production J&J. The products are used throughout the world for human and veterinary medicines as well as safeguarding plants and materials.
