Jobster Reports High Demand for Seasonal Jobs

SEATTLE — December 6, 2006 — The latest job report from Jobster shows that November was a great time to be searching for seasonal retail employment. Jobster’s keyword search trends data revealed a significant increase in searches including “Christmas” and “Holiday.” The report also revealed that zero searches were made for red-nose, sleigh-pulling reindeer this season.

“Employers are staffing up again this year in anticipation of another busy holiday retail season,” said Jobster Vice President Todd Leeson. “The Jobster search trends data provides valuable insight into professional as well as seasonal employment opportunities.”

Jobster, the online recruiting service that simplifies the process of making successful career matches for both jobseekers and employers, today released its November employment search trends data. According to Jobster’s latest employment trends report, both “Medical” and “Photography” were also among the fastest growing job searches on the Internet during November. In addition, the fastest growing market was Portland, Oregon, which recorded a 19 percent increase in overall search frequency.

“The November report reflects the latest trends in job search, and specifically shows the positions and the markets in which jobseekers are turning to Jobster to help them find the right career match,” noted Leeson.

The following keywords experienced the greatest overall increase in search frequency compared to prior months:

1. Holiday (+357%)
2. Christmas (+194%)
3. Medical (+83%)
4. Graphic Designer (+79%)
5. Photography (+60%)

During the same period, the following markets experienced the greatest overall increase in search frequency:

1. Portland (+19%)
2. Dallas (+11%)
3. Minneapolis (+8%)
4. Boston (+7%)
5. Orlando (+6%)
6. San Jose (+6%)
7. Denver (+5%)
8. Philadelphia (+3%)
9. Austin (+3%)
10. San Francisco (+3%)
