Ericsson to provide ETB’s high-performance broadband network in Colombia

December 5, 2006, Colombian fixed-line operator ETB (Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogotá), has selected Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) to supply its EDA-based high-performance broadband solution.

Ericsson’s high-performance broadband solution enables ETB to offer high bandwidth and capacity for quality assurance in the delivery of ultra-high-speed Internet access, IPTV, IP telephony and gaming applications.

With the network solution designed around Ericsson’s EDA platform, ETB is able to deliver bundled broadband services, such as data, voice and video simultaneously to enhance its broadband offerings.

The contract includes three years of technical assistance and preventive maintenance. The first installation phase has been successfully carried out, with the network launched commercially. Installation of the total solution is planned for completion by the second half of 2006.
