AmberPoint Optimizes SOA Runtime Governance with BEA AquaLogic and BEA WebLogic

Oakland, California, December 4, 2006 -- AmberPoint today announced expanded support for BEA’s products with the addition of AquaLogic Service Bus 2.5 and BEA WebLogic Server 9.2. Utilizing both agent-based and agentless technologies, AmberPoint provides the industry’s broadest platform coverage, delivering comprehensive SOA runtime governance regardless of an organization’s current platform decisions and future mergers and acquisitions. This extended support for BEA enables AmberPoint to apply the full range of its capabilities to these latest BEA platforms.

“To gain the most from their investments in SOA infrastructure, enterprises require seamless interoperability between leading platforms and tools,” said Rob Levy, chief technology officer, BEA Systems. “We’re pleased to have AmberPoint’s support for the latest versions of BEA AquaLogic Service Bus and the BEA WebLogic Platform, as it can help enable our customers to best leverage the native SOA capabilities of our leading software with AmberPoint’s runtime management and governance capabilities.”

This integration will be highlighted in this week’s interoperability demo at the Gartner Application Integration and Web Services Conference December 4-6 in Orlando, Florida. The demo shows an SOA application running across BEA and Microsoft with AmberPoint providing runtime governance. (See “SOA Industry Leaders to Demonstrate Interoperability at Gartner Application Integration and Web Services Conference,” November 29, 2006.)

AmberPoint’s industry-leading SOA runtime governance software simplifies real-time visibility and control at each stage of the SOA lifecycle—from development and QA through production use. AmberPoint utilizes a policy-based approach to governance in order to manage the health and well-being of SOA applications.

Extended Agentless Policy Enforcement
AmberPoint also announced the extension of its agentless capabilities to BEA WebLogic Server 9.2, enabling it to provision WebLogic Server to execute security policies without the need to install AmberPoint agents in the environment. As a result of this support AmberPoint customers can easily leverage WebLogic Server’s native security capabilities.

AmberPoint offers agentless policy enforcement options in addition to agent-based mechanisms. With its agentless architecture, AmberPoint delegates runtime policy execution to the SOA infrastructure whenever policy-capable infrastructure is in place.

“Our close partnership with BEA has resulted in a large number of enterprise-class deployments with leading organizations in a variety of industries,” said Paul Butterworth, AmberPoint chief technology officer. “Our continued support for the latest versions of BEA WebLogic and BEA AquaLogic will bring significant benefits to our mutual customers.”
