Aldata Solution Achieves IBM SOA Specialty Status
Aldata customers can leverage IBM software, best practices and patterns to get started with SOA
Atlanta, GA – December 4, 2006 – Aldata Solution, Inc., a leading provider of software solutions for the retail industry, today announced its acceptance in the IBM Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Specialty after successfully completing IBM’s rigorous SOA technical and business requirements. With this acceptance, the Aldata G.O.L.D. Core Retail Suite fully integrates with the IBM SOA Foundation, enabling Aldata’s retail customers to create and deploy web services that automate specific activities without replacing core systems.
“The Aldata G.O.L.D. Core Retail Suite has met the requirements to achieve the SOA Specialty Status,” said Sandy Carter, vice president, SOA and WebSphere, IBM Software Group. “SOA is an increasingly important architectural requirement in the retail industry because of the business flexibility it enables.”
The integration of the Aldata G.O.L.D. Core Retail Suite with IBM SOA Specialty Status allows retailers access to technology that automates the tasks and decision-making process across the supply chain. The IBM SOA Specialty Status Certification is intended to provide businesses with the ability to model, assemble, deploy and manage their business process and to provide a baseline from which to measure their performance and business. Aldata G.O.L.D. customers have the resources to implement complete automated solutions for the retail supply chain.
“Achieving IBM SOA Specialty status is a real milestone for the Aldata G.O.L.D. Core Retail Suite,” said Neil Thall, CEO of Aldata Solution. “The Aldata Core Retail Suite already is broken into nine functional applications that retailers can implement incrementally. Our SOA capabilities build on that flexibility by enabling our customers to automate key business processes, such as an advance ship order, as a service that they can use again and again.”
About the IBM SOA Foundation
The IBM SOA Foundation outlines the logical steps to implement SOA. Each step represents an integrated, open set of software, best practices, and patterns that provide partners what they need to get started with SOA. Business Partners can leverage the SOA Foundation to deliver the value of SOA to their own or their customers’ environment.
IBM has carefully selected the software that makes up the SOA Foundation from the broader IBM software portfolio to support each stage of the SOA lifecycle. As partners become knowledgeable in the suite of IBM SOA software products, they can broaden their reach to new and existing customers to help them gain the benefits of SOA.
