Business Logic Systems Expands African Operations to Address Growth and Importance of Prepaid

ITU Telecoms World Hong Kong, 4 December 2006 – Leading provider of prepaid loyalty technologies to mobile operators, Business Logic Systems, (Stand 11122.005, UK Pavilion Hall 11), has expanded its African operations at its Johannesburg offices, including the appointment of a new Regional Services Manager.

These moves come in the light of continued growth in prepaid user numbers on every network across this massive continental market. Proportionally, these users are now in higher numbers than postpaid/contract subscribers on many networks, which highlights the importance of the prepaid option for many members of Africa’s population.

Taking on the role of Regional Services Manager is Joei O’ Rourke. Joei has over 20 years experience in managerial operations positions, 12 years within the mobile environment and over five year’s specialisation in business analysis.. Working mostly internationally, she has held senior positions with LogicaCMG, Cellphones Direct in South Africa and a number of international companies within the Vodafone group.

In her new role she will be responsible for the service support of both existing and prospective clients, developing new partnerships and ensuring existing alliances run smoothly.

“Regional players and operator alliances, such as MTN, MTC, Celltel as well as Vodafone and its affiliates, make Africa a very attractive market,” said Business Logic Systems’ CEO, David Walker. “And our investment in growing our regional operations out of South Africa, at this time, result from a high level of interest in our loyalty solutions from operators recognising the need to manage their prepaid users more efficiently.

“Prepaid is not simply about providing communications options for huge numbers of low income, poor credit users. It’s also about choice, and for many who could sign up to a contract, having a more flexible, controllable prepaid arrangement makes sense. For the operator who manages their prepaid loyalty strategies effectively it’s win-win. More loyal prepaid subscribers, more prepaid revenues,” Walker concluded.

With its Solutions Centre based in Cluj Romania, Business Logic Systems’ prepaid solutions are already in use with 22 mobile network operators around the world, including in Europe, Central Asia, Australasia and the Americas
