Unisys Continues to Team with Microsoft to Offer Clients Unparalleled Collaboration and Services for Migration

BLUE BELL, Pa., November 30, 2006 – Unisys (NYSE: UIS) announced that it will fully support the upcoming Microsoft Windows Vista, the 2007 Microsoft Office system and Exchange Server 2007 rollout and has already successfully completed initial worldwide training in support of programs to bring enhanced productivity and reduced cost to our customers through the use of these products. As a result, Unisys has the immediate capability to migrate its new and existing clients to the system as soon as the highly anticipated releases are available to market.

As part of its commitment to supporting its clients’ efforts in migrating to the new systems, Unisys announces it is also a flagship member of the Microsoft Advanced Desktop Deployment Program (ADDP), whereby a key number of Unisys consultants are trained and ready to deploy the Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office system for clients.

Maintaining a longtime strategic relationship, Unisys worked closely with Microsoft to develop solutions to support every facet of the Exchange Server 2007, Windows Vista and the 2007 Microsoft Office system, and offers its clients the people, processes and practices to deliver enterprise-class, mission-critical solutions in challenging industry-specific environments. For example, Unisys consultants can build a 3D model, or blueprint, that illustrates the use of messaging at a company, including how specific functionality in Exchange Server 2007 can support business strategies, processes, applications, and the existing corporate IT infrastructure—especially applications supporting processes that have a high dependency on collaboration.

Combined with the launch of the 2007 Microsoft Office system, Unisys is ready to help enterprises transition to a single OS standard quickly with single image tools and improved zero-touch deployment methods. In addition to its membership in the ADDP program and its ongoing consultant training, Unisys is also working to ensure that its core infrastructure and business productivity solutions will be able to be deployed on Windows Vista. For Exchange Server 2007, Unisys momentum on technical and sales readiness will enable its field organization to promote and deliver the migration of its global customer base from competitive messaging platforms such as Notes and GroupWise, as well as older versions of Exchange, to the new platform.

“Windows Vista operating system, 2007 Microsoft Office system and Exchange Server 2007 offer customers major security and manageability enhancements,” said Simon Witts, corporate vice president, Enterprise & Partner Group, Microsoft Corp. “Unisys and Microsoft have a history of working together and are dedicated to delivering solutions that provide customers with tools for secure business operations that also offer them the ability to quickly scale in order to meet the ever-changing and ever-growing needs of today’s enterprise.”

As an industry proven provider of secure communication and collaboration solutions, Unisys brings the trusted ability to offer clients innovative integration and productivity enhancing applications of voice and data, yet still enable client infrastructures to remain secure – an increasingly important facet of IT management today. Unisys will help its clients realize the full potential of Exchange Server 2007, which offers built-in protective technologies to help reduce spam and viruses, enable confidential communications, and allow employees to get anywhere access to their e-mail, voice mail, calendars and contacts from a variety of clients and devices. Unisys will be able to configure these features to run on premise or as hosted services on the Internet.

“Unisys sees the upcoming Windows Vista, Exchange Server 2007 and the 2007 Microsoft Office system launch as critical to helping our clients leap into the future with extraordinary efficiencies and lower manageability costs,” said Jim Boak, vice president, Microsoft and Intel Alliances, Unisys. “We are excited about the advanced capabilities that the new platform offers, and we are getting our clients excited as well. We also look forward to further strengthening our relationship with Microsoft by participating in the launch on a global scale.”

Microsoft Windows Vista, the 2007 Microsoft Office system and Exchange Server 2007 will be available for businesses on November 30. General availability will follow in January 2007. Learn more about Unisys services and/or solutions for Microsoft.
