Kluwer and Vinçotte Will Collaborate on Information and Training Courses for Professionals

Cooperation leading to new information products and training courses for the quality, safety and environmental market

Mechelen/Vilvoorde, Belgium (November 30, 2006) – Kluwer (Belgium), a part of Wolters Kluwer and a leading supplier of information and services for professionals, and Vinçotte, market leader with regard to certification, control and training courses in the field of quality, safety and the environment, today announced a strategic cooperation on providing information and training for professionals in the areas of quality, safety and the environment. This cooperation further expands the information and training offer for experts, attuning it even more closely to their needs.

Today both companies already have a generous offer of printed and electronic information products which were specifically developed for this market. For example, Kluwer has developed is the online database Sentral. In addition to books and journals, it also offers a number of practical instruments which enable prevention advisors to make decisions quickly on the basis of the legal information (including Safety Scan, Enviroscan, Office Scan and Dangerous Goods Manager). Kluwer also markets the software product Square, an online management system in the area of work safety, quality and the environment. Moreover, both companies publish a number of publications on the General Regulations regarding Electrical Installations (GREI). Via the Vinçotte Academy, Vinçotte is also the market leader in offering technical training courses and each year reaches 12,000 highly-specialised students with its knowledge.

One can already see the first concrete results of the collaboration. Kluwer and Vinçotte are together developing a number of new editions of the GREI (General Regulations regarding Electrical Installations): a pocket manual, two loose-leaf editions (a 3-part and a 10-part version) and a CD-ROM. Vinçotte is providing the commentary on the legislation and the practical information, Kluwer is handling the production and commercialisation of these publications.
