Zurich, November 22, 2006 – Swissport International, the world’s leading provider of ground services to the aviation industry, has concluded a long-term collaboration agreement with Swiss International Air Lines Ltd. The new accord covers the provision of ground handling services for SWISS in Switzerland from 2007 to 2011.

Swissport and Swiss International Air Lines Ltd. (SWISS) are delighted that, following intensive contractual negotiations, they have agreed to place their existing collaboration on a new and longer-term basis. The partners have concluded a new five-year collaboration agreement for SWISS’s operations at Zurich, Basel and Geneva airports encompassing:

- the ground handling product (processes, services and standards)
- the realignment of various operational interfaces
- the adoption of performance-based pricing models
- means of ensuring quality, flexibility and greater transparency
- a stronger focus on customer satisfaction.

The new agreement will enable Swiss International Air Lines to achieve substantial cost savings. At the same time, the accord will ensure that innovative new ground handling products and services are regularly developed and introduced to SWISS’s Swiss airport operations.

“We are very satisfied with the results of our negotiations,” says Daniel Weder, Vice President Airport Services & Operation Steering at SWISS. “Through our positive collaboration with our partner Swissport, we can further enhance our ground product and the associated interfaces, all to the benefit of our passengers. Our new agreement with Swissport also offers all these products and services on attractive terms that will further intensify what is already a strong and fruitful cooperation.”

Swissport is equally pleased to have concluded this new contractual agreement with its biggest Swiss customer. “This multi-year accord will help maintain consistency in our highly dynamic business,” says Urs Sieber, Swissport Executive Vice President Ground Handling Worldwide. “And that is good news for all airport partners.”
