Alcatel and team up to facilitate job search for disabled people


Paris, November 14, 2006 - Alcatel (Paris : CGEP.PA and NYSE : ALA) and today launched a new SMS alert service. Job candidates subscribing to, a recruitment web site dedicated to disabled people, can now be alerted by SMS as soon as a new job alert corresponding to their profile or search criteria is placed on line.

This SMS alert solution will help disabled people to access job offers when they don’t have regular Internet access. It is also a useful tool for the deaf and hard of hearing who also utilize SMS services. This innovative service, which will be available for free on, has been developed by Alcatel’s “Mission Handicap”.

“This simple and efficient tool will democratize e-recruitment, as it gives real time access to disabled people, who are communicating more with their mobile phones than with emails. Very few web sites are offering this alert system. It demonstrates that handicap initiatives benefit to innovation,” declared Karin Raguin, operational director of
