JVC Partners with VMIX to Invite America to Create JVC Everio Hard Drive Camcorder Commercial; Winner to be Featured in Ad Spots to Air Live on Spike TV

WAYNE, NJ, November 6, 2006 – JVC Company of America today invites your inner film producer to come out and participate in its “Create Our Commercial” campaign. With this integrated and entertaining marketing program JVC is setting out to engage the creative talents and personalities of America by encouraging today’s innovative thinkers, amateur and professional videographers, and everyday camcorder users to submit 30- to 60-second video clips that positively portray JVC’s image, while simultaneously driving awareness around JVC’s Everio hard drive camcorder product line.

In addition, JVC is introducing an interactive online game called the “Cutting Room Floor,” where players can have fun editing clips and more. Key incentives to participate in the program include: One grand prize winner, who will receive $2,500 and be able to watch their JVC self-produced commercial air on Spike TV. In addition to the grand prize winner, a second prize winner receives a JVC Everio camcorder. JVC will also present sizeable prizes to five runner-up contestants.

JVC’s partner, VMIX, an online video sharing site, will host contestants’ original and artistic videos filled with interesting, intriguing and fresh content that highlight the unique attributes of JVC’s Everio hard drive camcorders. Visitors to the VMIX website (http://www.vmix.com) will have an opportunity to rate and comment on each video. These comments and rankings will be taken into consideration by the panel of judges selecting the winning submissions.

“Today, it is all about user generated content and being in control of the type of media you want to consume,” said Terry Ash, executive vice president and co-founder of VMIX. “VMIX enables viewers to personalize, interact and express themselves with their favorite media entertainment and brands.”

“More and more people are turning to video to express themselves,” said Karl Bearnarth, Senior Vice President, JVC. “This burgeoning interest in creative expression is driven in part by how easy it is for someone to showcase their talents on the Internet, and our Everio camcorders are ideal for this because transferring footage from the camcorder to a computer is a quick and easy drag and drop procedure. The contest and our association with VMIX will allow us to spread that message and engage a key segment of the market – young, internet-savvy consumers interested in video as a creative outlet.”

JVC is accepting entries for its “Create Our Commercial” campaign now through December 31, 2006. Entries can be submitted via the JVC/VMIX Web site: http://www.vmix.com/jvc.php, and will be made viewable online once the video has been approved for content. The complete rules can be found on the VMIX Web site, but the basic rule for video content approval is that all submissions follow a PG-13 guideline.

The JVC contest is open to all legal U.S. residents residing in one of the 50 states. Contestants must be at least 18 years old to submit a video for inclusion in the contest. All winners will be notified of the status of their submission on or before January 31, 2007.
