Urban Realty, LLC, a Charlotte Area real estate brokerage specializing in Uptown and Ring Neighborhoods including Dilworth, Eastover, Myers Park , Wilmore, Midwood, Wesley Heights and others, has selected HomeCharlotte.com as a firm-wide source of Listing Syndication. “HomeCharlotte is a really good way for us to get our listings out to some strong channels including Google Base, Trulia, and Yahoo Classifieds. [HomeCharlotte’s technology] is focused on getting eyeballs on our listings and it frees our time to focus more on client satisfaction” says Scott Lindsley co-owner of Urban Realty and former partner of Lindsley Appraisals.

“Getting the endorsement of a cutting-edge brokerage like Urban Realty is a true complement” says Landon Massey, CEO of HomeCharlotte. “Urban Realty really came onboard with a mission of using the web to reach a broader audience and they brought a willingness to concede that one company website may not be enough” says Massey. HomeCharlotte is designed to level the playing field and to help small to medium-sized firms compete by syndicating, or broadcasting, listings to other more popular search tools. This amplifies the number of web users who can find the listings without having to find the Agent’s site or even HomeCharlotte directly.

“The national ”Search Engines“ just aren’t performing effectively for smaller, local sites.” says Massey. “Those sites just get lost unless there is a complete and time-consuming web promotion strategy in place including frequent site updates, regular optimization and a high number of reputable sites linking into the site in question. The really bad news is that getting visitors to the site is just half of the battle. Then there is a need for technologically competing with the overwhelming checkbooks of the larger sites.” Syndication cures a lot of these issues by getting the listings onto “hot” sites rather than trying to compete with them for traffic and attention. According to Massey, HomeCharlotte’s job is to stay abreast of these “hot” sites and to get local agent listings on those sites and keep them there with daily updates and maintenance.

The good news for local Brokers and Agents is that HomeCharlotte does this without requiring members to make even a single purchase. Massey says, “We want agents to focus on Real Estate instead of Technology because that enables them to focus on their business leading to higher success and our success is directly tied to theirs. After all, we don’t get paid if they don’t get paid. You won’t find that anywhere else.” In Massey’s opinion, most sites use Real Estate Listings as content around which to sell advertising. Realtor.com, Homes.com and RealEstate.com are about listing presence and advertising not listing performance in that the success of their sites is not based on the success of that listing’s sales performance. In short, the presence of listings sells advertising spots not the homes themseleves.

“So far [HomeCharlotte has] delivered what they have promised; greater exposure for our listings with fewer headaches” says Urban Realty’s Lindsley. “It’s also reassuring to know that they don’t get paid unless we get paid. It shows a real commitment to our success. They aren’t just selling advertising, they’re selling our listings and we just haven’t seen a stronger commitment to that anywhere else.”

HomeCharlotte.com is the free Real Estate Search and Syndication Engine that brings the right people together to buy, sell and rent Charlotte Real Estate by leveraging the strength of National Search Tools and driving client leads back to Local Member Listing Agents.
