October 26, 2006, Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has been selected to supply, install and integrate Bouygues Telecom’s WCDMA/HSPA radio equipment in the Greater Paris area and Rhône-Alpes.

Bouygues Telecom, a French mobile operator with more than 8.3 million subscribers, has chosen Ericsson as its partner in the creation of its new WCDMA/HSPA mobile broadband network. Ericsson will provide, install and integrate 50 percent of the equipment required for the complete network, over a period of five years.

Thanks to Ericsson’s solutions, Bouygues Telecom’s WCDMA/HSPA subscribers will be able to access new multimedia services using the broadband capacity of the network.

Installation of the equipment has already started. Ericsson will be responsible for Bouygues Telecom’s two largest geographic regions in terms of traffic: the Greater Paris area and the Rhône-Alpes region. Ericsson was chosen for the scope of its product range and capacity to meet major technical requirements.

Guy Roussel, president of Ericsson France, says: “This contract is Ericsson’s first radio equipment agreement in France, and it is a major turning point in the relationship between Bouygues Telecom and Ericsson - a result of our constructive partnership established over the years.”

Ericsson is also the supplier of Bouygues’ GSM and WCDMA/HSPA mobile core network, including the Mobile Softswitch Solution and Packet Core - the foundation of the operator’s entire network.

Ericsson is already supplying WCDMA and WCDMA/HSPA mobile networks throughout the rest of Europe, with equipment and services for both core and radio access networks.

Ericsson is shaping the future of Mobile and Broadband Internet communications through its continuous technology leadership. Providing innovative solutions in more than 140 countries, Ericsson is helping to create the most powerful communication companies in the world.
