Adobe Appoints Former Intel Exec to Senior VP of Corporate Marketing and Communications
Ann Lewnes to Head Adobe’s Brand and Integrated Marketing Efforts Worldwide
SAN JOSE, Calif. — Oct. 16, 2006 — Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ: ADBE) today announced the appointment of Ann Lewnes as senior vice president of corporate marketing and communications. Lewnes previously served as Intel Corporation’s vice president of sales and marketing and director of partner marketing, which included responsibility for the “Intel Inside” program. Lewnes will join Adobe on Nov. 1, 2006 and will oversee Adobe’s corporate positioning, branding and identity, public relations, customer engagement marketing and vertical marketing efforts. She replaces Melissa Dyrdahl who has decided to leave the company to pursue her interest in social entrepreneurism.
“Ann has championed one of the top technology brands in the world,” said Shantanu Narayen, Adobe’s president and chief operating officer. “As Adobe continues to expand into new markets and address an increasingly broad range of customers, Ann’s insights and expertise will give us the edge we need to effectively reach those customers and ensure Adobe’s brand continues to grow in strength and scope.”
Lewnes brings over 20 years of technology industry experience to Adobe. She began her career at Intel in corporate communications, and she has marketed Intel technology to consumers, business professionals and key computer channels worldwide for over a decade. At Intel, the world’s fifth most valuable brand according to research conducted by Interbrand, Lewnes oversaw the development of the company’s 386 SX campaign, the first-ever microprocessor campaign targeted at PC end-users. She oversaw Intel’s launch of the Pentium® and Centrino® processor brands, and developed the world’s first interactive advertisement, attracting 400,000 Super Bowl viewers to the Intel Web site. In 1997, Lewnes was named as one of the top 25 women to watch by Advertising Age, and in 2000 she was elected to the American Advertising Federation’s Hall of Achievement.
Born in New York City, Lewnes received a bachelor’s degree in international relations and journalism from Lehigh University.
