SEAT has signed a collaboration agreement with the Spanish Directors’ Association (AED) whereby the Spanish automotive company becomes a part of the Association’s corporate member programme, whose aim is to collaborate with companies with the shared goal of contributing to executives’ individual and collective development.

The agreement, which was signed by Ramón Paredes, SEAT and the Volkswagen Group in Spain Executive Vice-president for Government and Institutional Relations, and AED General Manager Xavier Gangonells, will encourage company executives to participate in the Association´s multiple activities, dialogue with other directors and joint activities of mutual interest to both parties, such as those relating to connectivity, digitisation, Industry 4.0, new training models, and generally speaking, the development and creation of new opportunities for young talent.

Likewise, Paredes has joined the board of the AED in the Region of Madrid, which is made up of 15 executives and headed by Juan Carlos Gallego, executive director of the technical secretariat of the presidency of CaixaBank in Madrid.

According to Xavier Gangonells, SEAT’s integration in the AED is “great news for the association’s institutional project”, as SEAT’s size and performance will enable AED members to harness their knowledge and experience in key aspects such as digital transformation and training, among others.”

Moreover, Ramón Paredes expressed his satisfaction at joining an association that deals with the personal and professional development of directors. “Our joining the AED will not only enable us to participate in the interesting projects it supports, but will also allow us to raise even more awareness of the absolutely essential role that SEAT and the automotive sector are playing in the development of the industry, digitisation, connectivity and future professions through training 4.0, as well as the new habits that society is compelled to adopt.”

Created in 1996, the Spanish Directors’ Association (AED) mission is to contribute to the individual and collective improvement of the professionals who are at the head of the country’s organisations. It currently has close to 2,000 members, of which more than 60% hold positions of the highest management responsibility in the companies where they work.

With offices in Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, the Canary Islands and Galicia, the organisation helps business leaders discover experiences, knowledge and new management trends through activities and initiatives. It also conducts extensive research into the leadership role in multiple professional fields.

In the international arena, the AED is the consultative body of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and promotes its values by means of agreements and programmes with public and private institutions through its AED Global initiative.
