Athens, AL - October 10, 2006 - Daniel IT Services, Inc., an IBM Business Partner providing enterprise e-commerce solutions, is honored to co-sponsor the First Annual Roger Murrah and Friends, “Songwriters in the Round” concert, Saturday October 14, 2006 at 7:30 at Athens Bible School. Joining Roger will be hit songwriters Neal Coty and Jimmy Melton. Roger Murrah is an Athens native who is an award-winning singer, songwriter, and successful music publisher who has a long list of hit songs to his credit which include: Al Jarreau’s “We’re in This Love Together,” the Oak Ridge Boys’ “Ozark Mountain Jubilee,” “It Takes A Little Rain To Make Love Grow” and “Crazy Love;” Steve Wariner’s “Life’s Highway,” Alan Jackson’s Grammy® and CMA-nominated “Don’t Rock the Jukebox,” Alabama’s “High Cotton,” “I’m In a Hurry (And Don’t Know Why)”and “Southern Star"; “Where Corn Don’t Grow,” recorded by Travis Tritt, Waylon Jennings and The Grascals; and “Goodbye Time,” recorded by Conway Twitty and Blake Shelton.

"I’ve had this idea for a long time, to host a concert in my hometown that would raise money for individuals in need or charitable organizations,” said Murrah. “This will be an annual event, though the type of show might vary from year to year. For this first year, I decided to do a ‘writers in the round’ show, where Neal, Jimmy and I will take turns performing some of the songs we’ve written.”

Daniel IT assisted with designing and developing the musicathens.com website that was centered on providing information about the “Songwriters in the Round” event. The musicathens.com website will continue to provide information on musical events in the Athens area following the Roger Murrah and Friendsconcert.
