Application Acceleration Platforms Deliver Fast, Reliable Access to Centralized mySAP NetWeaver Portal for 9,000 Employees and 25,000 Customers Worldwide

SUNNYVALE, Calif., October 10, 2006 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that Dow Corning has deployed the Juniper Networks DX application acceleration platforms to dramatically increase the performance of its centralized mySAP NetWeaver portal, which provides remote access to vital business applications and processes for thousands of employees and customers around the world.

In order to gain a single global view of business operations while reducing costs, Dow Corning consolidated more than 20 regional SAP systems to create a centralized portal that delivers supply chain, financial process and human resource information to more than 9,000 employees in 32 countries. The Juniper Networks data center acceleration (DX) platforms made this possible by improving application response time by as much as four times, as well as reducing SAP traffic on the network by up to 70 percent.

“With the Juniper Networks DX application acceleration solution, our new mySAP NetWeaver Portal deployment has been a success,” said Jeff Duly, senior enterprise architect at Dow Corning. “Any customer deploying mySAP NetWeaver Portal should consider the Juniper Networks DX platform to secure and accelerate their applications.”

The DX application acceleration platform delivers a complete data center acceleration solution for Web-enabled business applications such as mySAP and greatly improves the end-user experience by accelerating page downloads and delivering content much more quickly than a traditional Web server on its own. The DX platform also satisfies high availability and security requirements by consolidating a number of centralized services-including server and global server load balancing, SSL encryption and termination, HTTP compression, TCP multiplexing, and application security-on a single device.

“The DX platform is the ideal solution for enterprises that need to centralize data center applications while still delivering secure, high-performance access to an increasingly distributed workforce,” said Sanjay Beri, director of Product Management at Juniper Networks. “Centralizing key applications not only allows enterprises to reduce total cost of ownership, but improves overall manageability of the network and provides a single view for application performance.”
