The First American Corporation Names Sandra Bell Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer


October 2, 2006, SANTA ANA, Calif. - The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF), America’s largest provider of business information, today announced that Sandra Bell has joined the company as its vice president and chief marketing officer.

In this newly created position, Bell will be responsible for identifying and overseeing corporate marketing strategies designed to increase market penetration of First American’s products, services, solutions and technology. She will work in conjunction with First American’s national marketing and sales organization and corporate communications department in the areas of advertising, Internet promotion, corporate events and market research.

Prior to joining First American, Bell worked as a partner at Ervin | Bell Marketing Communications, First American’s advertising agency of record. Bell joined the Irvine, Calif.-based advertising agency in 1984, was named vice president in 1990 and became a partner in 1999. In that capacity, Bell has worked closely with First American for more than 20 years in the development of marketing and advertising strategies for the corporation and several of its subsidiary companies, including companies now part of First Advantage Corporation, a majority-owned subsidiary of The First American Corporation. Bell has also assisted the advertising agency in establishing the first industry-wide public relations and marketing campaign for the title insurance industry through her work with the American Land Title Association, and has worked with the agency to help lead national marketing and advertising efforts for several companies in the lending, real estate and consumer goods arenas.

Bell is currently involved with key industry and community organizations, including the CMO Council, which is comprised of senior marketing and brand-decision makers from some of the world’s foremost brands; and the National Investor Relations Institute, an international organization with more than 4,500 members, many of which represent the world’s largest publicly traded companies. In addition, she served as vice chairman of the public relations committee for the Orange County, Calif., chapter of the American Red Cross. She has also been involved, through Ervin | Bell Marketing Communications’ participation, with the Business Marketing Association and the American Association of Advertising Agencies. Bell graduated with honors from California State University at Fullerton.

Bell will assume her duties with First American on Oct. 2, 2006.
