Lykele van der Broek is the new Head of the Animal Health Division and member of Bayer HealthCare Executive Commitee

Monday - October 2, 2006 - Leverkusen – Effective October 1st, 2006, Lykele van der Broek has been appointed as Head of Animal Health Division and member of the Bayer HealthCare (BHC) Executive Committee. He succeeds Peter Nicklin, who left Bayer HealthCare to persue other job opportunities effective on the same date.

Lykele van der Broek is Dutch and is graduated from the Agricultural University in Wageningen (Netherlands) with a Master of Science specializing in Phytopathology and Business Adminstration.

Van der Broek started his career at the Plant Protection Service of Netherlands. From 1984 to 1991, he acted as Deputy Director and Director of the Netherlands Inspection Service for Arboriculture (NAKB). He then held different positions in BioScience companies. On joining Nunza (now Nunhems), a vegetable seed group, in 1999 he was responsible for Asia Pacific and strategy. In 2001 he became CEO and continued this position after Bayer’s the acquisition of Aventis CropScience in 2002. In 2003 he was appointed Head of BioScience, a business group within Bayer CropScience, before changing into the position as Head of Regional Coordination Europe at Bayer AG.

Lykele van der Broek is married with three children.
