WILMINGTON, Del., September 28, 2006 - Working Mother Magazine has named DuPont to its list of the Working Mother 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers . This is the 16th time that DuPont has been named to the list.

The list of companies selected for the 2006 Working Mother 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers was based on submission of an extensive application completed by each company. The application includes questions about work force, compensation, child care, flexibility programs and more.

DuPont was specifically recognized for its support of flextime, child care facilities and discounts, and its extensive support to the victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Flextime: At DuPont, nearly 60 percent of employees use flextime at some point in their career. To help employees determine what schedule will work best for them, the company website provides calculators, checklists and other tools.

Child Care: The Wilmington headquarters features an on-site facility that can accommodate up to 200 infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Employees at other locations receive 10 percent discounts at daycare centers and sponsored backup and sick-child care in their homes or at accredited facilities.

Outreach: DuPont demonstrated its strong commitment to employees last year when hurricanes Katrina and Rita damaged nine manufacturing plants and left hundreds of employees homeless. DuPont donated more than $1 million to the overall relief effort, plus food and supplies, mobile homes and essential services to stranded employees. Storm victims also continued to receive their salaries for varying lengths of time despite the shutdown of some plants.

“DuPont is proud to be placed on this list for the 16th year. We continue to place a high value on these programs,” said DuPont Global Engagement and Inclusion Manager Terry Yancey-Bragg. “More than ever, supportive employers are needed to maintain the balance for working mothers in Corporate America.”
