Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Microsoft with Innovation Award for GPS Enhancement to its Trip Planning Software
Palo Alto, Calif. — September 21, 2006— Frost & Sullivan recently selected Microsoft Corp. as the recipient of the 2006 Global Excellence in Product Innovation of the Year Award for its Streets & Trips with GPS Locator trip-planning software. The addition of the global positioning system (GPS) locator to the Streets & Trips software in 2005 was a significant enhancement that has brought users substantial additional benefits.
Currently, Microsoft Streets & Trips 2006 with GPS Locator includes the #1 best-selling travel and map software*. Streets & Trips helps motorists plan the most direct routes and easily gets them back on track after a detour from a planned route. The points of interest database helps motorists find services on the road with a minimum of deviation and delay. Free road construction and closure updates through the Internet allow motorists to minimize delays due to these causes, saving fuel as well as time.
The standard edition of Streets & Trips is available for an estimated retail price* of $39.99, while the GPS Locator version retails for approximately $129*.
