Wayne, N.J., December 6, 2016 (Booth #400)The Endoscopy Division of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. will feature its latest endoscopic imaging technologies and solutions at the 40th Annual New York Course of the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (NYSGE). NYSGE is one of the largest endoscopy conferences in the United States and is expected to host approximately 700 attendees this year. The course will be held from December 14-16 at the New York Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square.

“Fujifilm’s Endoscopy Division prides itself in equipping physicians with the tools they need to remain at the top of their fields, and provide outstanding patient care as well,” said Keiichi Nagata, President, Endoscopy Division of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. “Some of the world’s most renowned endoscopy specialists will be in New York for NYSGE, making it an ideal venue to showcase our newest innovations.”

During the conference, experts in gastrointestinal diseases and disorders will not only have the chance to explore Fujifilm’s latest product portfolio on the show floor, but also to see the technology in action via live telecasts from NYU Langone Medical Center. Procedures will take place on Thursday, December 15 from 2:00pm to 4:35pm and Friday, December 16 from 8:25am to 3:15pm.

During the cases, the following Fujifilm equipment will be in use:

  • Fujifilm’s 600 series video colonoscopes have a slim insertion portion diameter of 12.8mm and 11.8mm and a large instrument channel of 4.2mm and 3.8mm. This assists examinations of the colon with effective suction performance. In addition, a forward water jet function is available for enhanced observation during procedures.
  • Fujifilm’s new double balloon endoscope (EN-580T) is engineered to unlock access to difficult to reach pathways within the digestive tract. The EN-580T has a large instrument channel of 3.2mm for expanded treatment capacity in various procedures. Close focus optics provides images with exceptional quality as close as 2mm enabling advanced visualization technologies. The balloon air feed inlet is also repositioned and redesigned for improved operability.
  • Fujifilm’s latest gastroscopes, including the EG-600WR are equipped with the latest CMOS image sensor technology which provides even more detailed images during endoscopic applications.
  • Fujifilm’s ClutchCutter device for endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is a highly versatile instrument utilizing high frequency current to cut tissue within the digestive tract. It’s designed for multiple applications including ablation, incision, dissection, avulsion, cauterization, coagulation and hemostasis. The ClutchCutter features rotatable, serrated jaws, helping to approach and grasp the mucosal tissue.

Fujifilm’s booth will also exhibit the new SU-1 Endoscopic Ultrasonic Processor which features Fujifilm’s proprietary image-processing technology in a state-of-the-art, compact footprint. Guests will also be able to experience our 500 series ultrasonic gastroscopes, the double balloon endoscope, and the 600 series video gastroscope and colonoscopes.

As part of NYSGE, Fujifilm Endoscopy will take part in an advanced hands-on workshop, STER to SAP: Combined Upper and Lower GI Resection and Advanced Therapeutics Workshop. The session will take place on Wednesday, December 14 from 5:45pm – 9:00pm., and will feature Fujifilm’s 600 series video gastroscope and ClutchCutter device.

“Every day, gasteroenterologists around the world rely on Fujifilm’s technology to perform everything from colonoscopies to endoscopic submucosal dissection procedures,” said Kaz Maenosono, Senior Director of Marketing and Product Management, Endoscopy Division of FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. “We will continue to be a pioneer in this field, and we are proud to showcase our latest innovations at NYSGE.”
