Two Accenture Leaders Named Among Most Powerful Women in Canada by Women’s Executive Network

Toronto, ON, Canada – WEBWIRE

Two Accenture leaders have been named to the Women’s Executive Network 2016 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 list. The Accenture leaders are:

  • Claudia Thompson, managing director, Health and Public Service and lead for inclusion and diversity in Canada. In her more than 26 years at the company, Thompson is known for inspiring and advancing women, who currently make up 44 percent of Accenture’s workforce in Canada and 30 percent of the company’s leadership in Canada.
  • Petra Kuret, managing director, British Columbia. At Accenture’s B.C. office, where four of the five managing directors are women, Kuret’s leadership record for promoting and coaching women is well-established. Kuret was the first woman promoted to managing director in the company’s Resources industry group in Canada, more than a decade ago.  Throughout her 24-year career at Accenture, Kuret has worked to significantly grow the number of clients Accenture serves in B.C.

“We are tremendously proud of Claudia and Petra, who both exemplify what it means to be a leader and who are strong role models – not only for our 1,600 women across Canada, but for all Accenture employees,” said Bill Morris, senior managing director and Canada president, Accenture. “We pride ourselves on creating a workplace where everyone is empowered to lead and can be successful both professionally and personally.”

Together with Morris, Thompson co-chairs Accenture’s Canadian Diversity Council, and oversees intensive programs and strategies for the company’s Inclusion and Diversity organization, including the recent publication of Accenture’s Canadian workforce demographics.

“I am truly honoured to be named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women,” said Thompson. “While we have made good progress to advance gender diversity in our organization over the past several years, we recognize that there is still work to be done to reach our goal, which is quite simply to be Canada’s most inclusive and diverse workforce.”

Added Kuret, “It is indeed an honour to win this prestigious award, and I am grateful for the great programs to advance senior women at Accenture,” said Kuret. “To have two women recognized for this award in one year illustrates Accenture’s commitment to inclusion and diversity.”
