“This fictional memoir of fourteen chronological stories takes the reader through a simpler, yet complex enough era when ethnic and religious changes ruffled established values,”

Author Ed Mahoney published his book, Young Eric Malone: New England Stories, 1950–67.

Set in the 1950s and 60s, the book centers on the coming of age of a young Eric Malone, an Irish boy and adolescent growing up in Lowell, Massachusetts. The story also features his adventures and the anxieties of boyhood, along with the challenges of his high school and college life.

“This fictional memoir of fourteen chronological stories takes the reader through a simpler, yet complex enough era when ethnic and religious changes ruffled established values,” the author states.

Although Young Eric Malone: New England Stories, 1950–67 is a story set in a different era,  readers can still apply the lessons that still prove to be relevant today.
