Cabby and Cooper’s Canine Craving for the Ultimate Chow

Mark Edward Battuello’s lighthearted picture book, “In Search of the Holy Dog Food,” illustrates two dogs’ journey to munch on the best chow. Cabby and Cooper, the author’s pet dogs, walk the fields of Napa Valley, in search for the tastiest food to fill their tummy.

Battuello captures every moment of his companions’ adventure in picturesque photographs and colorful narration. His simple and fun approach to telling the story will endear readers to Cabby and Cooper, making people empathize with the two adorable animals. The picture collection spans over two years, showing the growth of both fur balls.

“Every time I tell someone the title of my story, it makes them laugh!” Battuello says. “That’s the whole point of this story. I wrote something that can, for a few dollars, make you feel good!”

The book is an entrant in the Frankfurt Book Fair of 2016. Through Cabby and Cooper’s story, Battuello aims to have more people gain insight on their pets’ lives and give them a reason to value animals.
