Public invited to have a say in future of Toronto’s Old City Hall building

The City of Toronto will host a public consultation session next Tuesday to hear from Torontonians on potential future uses of Old City Hall, the landmark building located at 60 Queen St. W. The session will be held on the third floor of Metro Hall, 55 John St., from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on November 22.

City staff and consultants will present preliminary findings of a feasibility study on future uses of the building. Public participation is an important part of the process. The meeting will include presentations, a panel discussion and a question-and-answer session.

Old City Hall is currently occupied by provincial and municipal courts, which are scheduled to vacate the historic building by 2021. The City wants future uses that allow for greater public access, celebrate the building’s history and meet several other civic objectives.
